Orphanages in Need of Immediate Aid

We are working tirelessly to provide ongoing support and basic needs to children in need. More than 100 preschool-aged children who have been relocated from Zaporizhia are currently in need of such support, and the foundation is doing everything possible to meet their needs. Additionally, another orphanage that has relocated from Dnipro is home to 180 children, 80 of whom have special neurodevelopmental disabilities that require specific care and support. BFF UCW is committed to helping these children by providing the resources to ensure their growth and development, including access to medical and rehabilitation facilities, food, clothing, and other essentials.

Building 10 Educational hubs

The schools and infrastructure in Ukraine have been severely damaged, leaving many children without access to education. However, efforts are being made to address this critical issue. BFF UCW is working closely with a local partner and the Lyman administration to establish education hubs in the area for 400 children. To set up each hub, internet (starlink), power (generator), smart books for the children and teachers, and basic school supplies are required. Since the beginning of the year, four education hubs have already been established, but much more work is needed to ensure that every child in the area has access to education. With continued support, BFF UCW and its partners are committed to creating a brighter future for these children by providing them with the education they need to succeed.

Helping Foster families in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblast

Providing essentials such as food and clothing to families fostering children who have lost their parents is a critical need in many communities around the world. The reality is that some families have taken on a staggering number of children in need, with some fostering as many as 10 kids. In some cases, these children have recently returned from russia, where they have experienced significant trauma and upheaval. In response to this urgent need, efforts have been made to provide assistance to these families, including the delivery of 500 pounds of clothing. However, there are still thousands of children in need of such support, and ongoing efforts are required to ensure that these vulnerable individuals receive the care and attention they deserve. By coming together as a community and supporting families who are fostering children, we can help to ensure that these children have access to the essentials they need to thrive and grow into healthy, resilient adults.

Mukachevo orphanage Medical Facility

The relocation of an orphanage from Dnipro has brought attention to the needs of 180 children, including 80 who require ongoing support due to their special neurodevelopmental disabilities. These children require not only basic needs, but also access to a rehabilitation and medical facility on site to address their unique needs. Fortunately, the organization behind the orphanage has already raised funds to construct the facility, and is seeking additional support to provide medical and rehabilitation equipment for the children. With the ongoing assistance of BFF UCW and compassionate individuals and organizations, these children can receive the care and support they require to thrive and reach their full potential.

What we do

Cultural Diplomacy

As part of a cultural diplomacy initiative, BFF UCW organized meetings of Ukrainian artists with students of Ridna Shkola in Los Angeles💙💛

The events featured a range of Ukrainian artists, including Tina Karol, a singer and actress with a powerful voice and emotional performances. Also included were Kalush Orchestra, the winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Oleksandra Zaritska of KAZKA band, Alyona Alyona, Jerry Heil, and Kola. Each of these artists has their own unique style and contributes to the diverse cultural landscape of Ukraine. The artistshad a chance to meet newly arrived Ukrainian kids and families in Los Angeles who were forced to leave their homes and provide them with support and solidarity.
